The objective of each discovery is the same.  Where are we today?

The methodology of a technical discovery or compliance audit will change depending on the area of focus.  A penetration test to evaluate data security is different than an analysis of ones global routed core.  

Once we can answer the question of where we stand today, we can make business assessments and go through risk analysis to see if this is where we want to be tomorrow.

Consulting Services

Consulting services are based around best-practice IP and optical technologies and their business value. The output here is a report focused on value to the business.

These are the questions that one should ask before a project begins and continue to ask as the project moves forward.  Answering these questions and feeding the answers back into an architecture is the job of our consulting services professionals.

Service / Maintenance

Service and maintenance is your insurance policy against hardware and software failure.  If a device goes bad, it needs to get replaced.  If code malfunctions, it must get fixed.  These functions, typically, are handled by individual equipment manufacturers that build and develop the hardware that runs your technical infrastructure.

The TorreyPoint difference here is multi-fold.  First, a large percentage of our consulting engineers have worked for manufacturers in TACs and development teams.  We have contacts and leverage points within Silicon Valley manufacturers that someone calling a TAC team will not have.  The odds are good that we not only know the person on the other end of the TAC call but, more importantly, we know the developers who coded the feature.  This intimate knowledge of global network manufacturers systems and people lets us push through roadblocks and get our customers to the people that matter.
