Case Study: Department of Defense
Challenge
A critical government test laboratory has a hard deadline to deploy a state-of-the-art, leading-edge IP/MPLS test-bed and a new Quality of Service (QoS) infrastructure on an IP routing platform that they have never used.
Solution
TorreyPoint's engineering and project management teams engage. Our engineers determine the routing and QoS requirements, pre-configure and stage the new network at our facilities. DOA hardware is returned and replaced before deployment, transparent to the customer. With the clock set to five days before a critical test, TorreyPoint engineers are deployed to stack, rack, configure and test the new network onsite. It is up and tested within 36 hours. The customer's operations team is trained on the new product's QoS and routing functionality and takes command of the network.
Benefit
The customer has a new, complex network deployed in two days of operational time. Pre-configuration, pre-deployment, hardware verification and full mock testing of the new network are all delegated to TorreyPoint. The same installation engineers have expert knowledge of both the new network equipment and the customer's environment. Training and sign off are handled cleanly.
Result
A new, complex IP/MPLS architecture is deployed in a major government facility in two days. The network is handed over to customer operations staff. Critical interoperability tests for a multi-billion dollar network take place on time.
